Continuity Planning and Emergency Preparedness
"Always plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark."
- Richard C. CushingFrom a water main break to a radiological accident to an office flu outbreak, there are an infinite number of ways an organization can be shut down. They come with varying degrees of warning: severe winter storms with days to prepare; tornados with only minutes. Other threats can strike in an instant, such as a communications failure or terrorism.
What they have in common is the ability to prevent your business from functioning, typically at the worst time. This puts the health and safety of employees, and the company’s future, at risk. We can’t always predict when these events will occur, but the effect on your organization can be anticipated and minimized.
A good continuity or emergency response plan is the solution.
The Business Continuity Planning Process
It is human nature to deny that an emergency will strike us personally. Each day the news media provide a continuous and worldwide list of disasters and disruptions and, as with the ubiquitous car alarm that’s ignored, we have become desensitized to the reality and frequency of these events.
At Oppenheim Consulting, LLC, we are experts at identifying your exposures and developing a comprehensive approach that will be ready when you need it. We work with you to understand your most critical needs and provide a continuity plan to assure that your goals are met. In addition, we'll train your staff, assemble response teams and test the plan. Lastly, to ensure that the plans don't get stale on the shelf, we'll periodically update them so your response and recovery plan grows and changes along with your organization.
Don't wait for the rain to begin falling!
